We at Ask Gina & Company, your friendly
Northern Virginia realtors, are big fans of Halloween. Playing dress up,
getting up to your elbows in pumpkin guts, and ingesting copious amounts of
candy- what’s not to love?! Whether you enjoy being so scared that you pee your
pants, or simply appreciate pumpkins and hayrides, Loudoun County has a host of
activities to fulfill your Halloween needs. While I love the Halloween spirit
and mayhem, I do not like the undead, things jumping out at me, or anything
with more than four legs. However, Shocktober in Leesburg has all of that and
more and you are able to experience it for yourself every Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday in October, as well as November 1st and 2nd.
Sunday, October 13th is even Student Day so head to their website, http://www.shocktober.org/ and enter
promo code STUDENT for five dollars off an exploration of the manor! Shocktober’s
Paxton Manor is more than just an ominous house enhanced to frighten Halloween
enthusiasts. Real, paranormal activity has
been witnessed in the house, whose foundation rests above creepy caverns and an
underground lake. Visitors can also choose to experience the, anything but fun,
Fun House, and/or a solo experience referred to as The Last Ride, where those
brave enough are lay in a coffin that is lowered into the ground. Activities
range from $5 to $20.
Less likely to give you a heart attack,
the Fall
Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Great Country Farms is another inexpensive Loudoun County autumn activity.
From pig races to cider doughnuts to a 2.5 acre corn maze, Bluemont’s Great
Country Farms, knows how to satisfy your craving for fall family fun. An array
of different size, shape, and color pumpkins can be purchased for 59 cents a
pound, including a pink “Porcelain Doll” pumpkin whose proceeds go to support
Breast Cancer Research. Great
Country Farms is open seven days a week and holds additional activities on
weekends and holidays so be sure to check out their website!
Ok, Northern Virginia, fall is here so join AGC
