Ask Gina & Company Beefs up Baltimore County’s Food Pantry

The Holiday Season is near and the Ask Gina & Company team (www.ask-gina.com) favors the feasts that accompany the forthcoming celebrations. Loudoun County is a philanthropic community and we want that giving nature to overflow to our neighbors in Baltimore County. Lorraine Gryniewich, a friend of AGC, was unsettled when she learned that Baltimore County’s food pantry is bare, the area lacking resources as well as potential donors. Lorraine has organized a food drive with the goal to provide meals for at least 50 families and is willing to pick up donations in Virginia, Maryland, and New York.  We want everyone to have a full table throughout the holidays, and every day, and we are happy to contribute to Lorraine’s food drive. If you want to help Lorraine surpass her goal, you can click http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C044BAFAD28A57-items to learn more and to donate.

Knowing that there is a food shortage, and a way for us to help, is the first step toward filling Baltimore’s food pantry and hungry bellies. Ask Gina & Company, with Keller Williams Loudoun Gateway, is happy to fill stomachs with food and heads with knowledge so contact the AGC real estate team at (703)574-3478 and accomplish the first step toward buying or selling a home in Northern Virginia.

Ask Gina & Company is Wild About Willowsford

Ask Gina & Company, voted Loudoun County’s Best Realtor, is your go to NOVA expert and we’re here to tell our Loudoun County neighbors all about the amenities affiliated with the budding community of Willowsford.  The PERFECT location, Willowsford is just minutes to Washington Dulles International Airport, Reston Town Center, Route 28, the Dulles Toll Road and I-66. From cooking classes to yoga, Willowsford encourages its residents to be social and active just like they are when it comes to their nonprofit organization, The Willowsford Conservancy.

“The Willowsford Conservancy is a nonprofit 501(c)4 organization specially formed to oversee and maintain Willowsford's extensive natural resources, which encompass more than 2,000 acres of 'Naturescapes' and agricultural land. Under this stewardship, the community's open spaces will be preserved through a variety of uses, including an extensive trail network connecting unique amenity areas, agricultural production by Willowsford Farm and management of green space to preserve existing streambeds, forests, meadows and other natural amenities.

"The Willowsford Conservancy advocates and encourages an appreciation for the environment and land stewardship. The Conservancy sets the tone for the community's lifestyle by working to support the core Willowsford philosophies of interaction with the land, with nature, and with family and friends in ways that make everyday life here rewarding, fulfilling…and fun. Its mission is to foster and preserve a true sense of "community" at Willowsford — a place where people put down roots, build relationships and get involved in a way that enhances their lifestyle and that of the community at large.”                                 -http://www.willowsford.com/conservancy

Columbus and The Pink Prancers

Heroic explorer or disease inflicting tyrant, Christopher Columbus and his initial voyage to the Americas are celebrated every second Monday in October. Columbus and his crew brought more than the postulations of the Spanish crown and a strong sense of entitlement to the New World; they also brought gifts of smallpox, influenza, and a plethora of other diseases that a lack of previous exposure in Native Americans resulted in mass, unabated deaths. Don’t get me wrong, Ask Gina & Company embraces just about any excuse to celebrate and we want to do so by attempting to eradicate (or at least understand) another relentless, lesser known, disease that is currently incurable. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be 22,350 new cases of multiple myeloma in the United States in 2013. AGC’s fabulous friend, Carol Lehning has been affected by multiple myeloma ever since her mother, Barbara was diagnosed with the disease four years ago. Carol is doing her part to find a cure by participating in MMRF Race for Research on November 16th and she needs your help.  Visit Carol’s race website to learn more about The Pink Prancers’ team and to donate if you can. Carol and Barbara also appreciate your prayers and spreading awareness.

Whether you explore Loudoun County’s beautiful backyard, take advantage of the countless amenities NOVA has to offer, or plan to race for a cure; enjoy Columbus Day (or Native Americans’ Day- see South Dakota). Carol, as well as Ask Gina & Company, understand that we are all in a challenging position with the government shutdown but if this cause touches your heart, please donate what you can and spread the word!
