Cooley’s Rally for the Cure – May 18th at Caliente in Brambleton!


Want to rub elbows with some local celebrities while showing your giving spirit as well? Then join Cooley’s Rally for the Cure tomorrow, May 18th at 6:30PM at Caliente Mex-Sea Kitchen & Bar in Brambleton. Tickets are still available for only $50! Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided as well as a cash bar. Chris Cooley and some of his teammates from the Washington Redskins will be conducting a live auction which will include Redskin’s memorabilia, gift baskets, salon treatments, weekend getaways, and more! All profits will benefit the Eastern Loudoun Relay for Life Briar Woods FBLA team.

Did You Know?


The Loudoun County supervisors have approved a second county hospital to be completed in 2015!
Stone Spring Regional Medical Center will be a 337,000 square foot, 164 bed hospital located at the intersection of US 50 and Gum Springs Road near South Riding. The hospital is expected to employ 500 people and contribute $3 million annually in taxes.

Tigerlily Foundation Second Annual DIVA Night Out – May 15, 2010

Tigerlily’s second annual DIVA (Divine Inspired Vivacious Aware) Night Out is scheduled for this Saturday, May 15th from 6PM-9PM at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington D.C. The event benefits young women with breast cancer and tickets can be purchased for $125 general admission, $200 VIP admission. The evening will be hosted by television personality Paul Wharton, ABC 7 journalist Cynne Simpson, and accomplished journalist Angel Elliott.

Ask Gina and Company is proud to support Tigerlily’s message of educating, empowering, and supporting those young women who have been affected by breast cancer. To show our support we have proudly donated two free tickets to two fabulous women who have been fighting breast cancer. We wish you a terrific, memorable night!

Military and Overseas Federal Employees Tax Credit Extension!

Did you know the First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit has been extended for those U.S. military and other federal employees servicing outside the U.S.? That’s right – those that qualify have an additional year to apply the up to $8000 tax credit so many took advantage of this past year! The credit applies to any individual (and, if married, the individual’s spouse) who serves on qualified official extended duty service outside of the United States for at least 90 days during the period beginning after December 31, 2008 and ending before May 1, 2010.

Bike to Work Day 2010!

I will be lacing up my shoes and biking to work in Loudoun County on Friday, May 21st to celebrate Bike to Work Day 2010! This annual event celebrates a clean, healthy, and fun way to get to work! There will be 35 pit stops throughout the Washington D.C. Metro area. Preregister at the Washington Area Bicyclist Association and receive a free t-shirt, refreshments, and other giveaways at the pit stops. So who’s with me?!

Congrats to Eagle Ridge Middle School!

Did you know Eagle Ridge Middle School in Ashburn, Virginia was named one of the Top Schools in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Talent Search 2009?! Way to make Loudoun County Proud! The search highlighted those schools that show academic quality, student and teacher ability, and school leadership outside of the traditional school setting.

Other middle schools in our region made the list as well! Congrats to: Longfellow and Saint James School in Falls Church, Rachel Carson and Nysmith School in Herndon, Glasgow in Alexandria, and Joyce Kilmer in Vienna. We sure do have some talented kids here in the Washington D.C. Metro area!

RelocateAmerica.com, a leading website in providing relocating resources, has named Washington D.C. the #2 place to live coming in just behind Huntsville, Alabama! It’s no wonder so many of us call it HOME!

Washington D.C. was also 4th on the Top Ten list of Recovery Cities in the country. This shows that we are well on our way back to economic health!

National League of Junior Cotillions Announces 2010-2011 Season

The National League of Junior Cotillions, Belmont Chapter (NLJC) recently announced the Events, Dances, Etiquette Classes and Balls for their 2010-2011 season. Classes will begin in September and are by invitation only.

The NLJC builds self-confidence and character by teaching young adults the skills necessary to succeed in life and to be caring, productive contributors to society. Classes include: proper telephone etiquette, first impressions, dress code for all occasions, formal place settings, and other areas of social manners.

“Part of my job as a Realtor is dealing with the public and I find learning these skills at a young age can only be beneficial to the future of the participants,” expressed Advisory Board Member Gina Tufano of Ask-Gina and Company Real Estate.
