Dulles Greenway Drive for Charity - MAY 15th
The Dulles Greenway sponsors a Drive for Charity Day. This year the Drive for Charity Event is Thursday, the 15th of May. On that day, 100% of the tolls collected on the Dulles Greenway will be donated to local charities. Last year, approximately $185,000 was donated to the March of Dimes, the Loudoun Chapter of the Special Olympics, Loudoun Abused Women̢۪s Shelter (LAWS), Fresh Air/Full Care and the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. With the funding that these charities received, March of Dimes (www.marchofdimes.com) was able to fund a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Family Support project at INOVA Fairfax Hospital as well as provide family support materials to INOVA Loudoun Hospital. LAWS (www.lcsj.org) was able to sponsor the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center. Fresh Air/Full Care sent 82 at-risk youths to summer camp. The Loudoun Chapter of the Special Olympics purchased equipment. The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy (www.loudounwildlife.org) expanded its education programs and underwrote an Environmental Education Conference.
As you can see, the funds do quite a bit of good in the local community. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact me at 703.668.0021 or via the web at aelawler@dullesgreenway.com. Thank you for your consideration.
