Dominion High School Choir sings holiday carols at the National Christmas Tree!

We are honored to announce that the Titan singers from Dominion High School here 

in Loudoun County will be headed downtown to perform at the National Christmas Tree in Washington,DC on Thursday, December 13th, from 8-8:30pm. We could not be more thrilled to have local students from a Northern Virginia school sing at such a nationwide celebration!

For 90 years, it has been an American tradition in our nation's capitol to light a "community tree" for all Americans. The tradition began with President Calvin Coolidge in 1923 with a 48 foot tree planted in President's Park (The Ellipse) with 2,500 electric bulbs illuminating in red, white and green, as a local choir and the US Marine Band performed.

This year highlights a beautiful 65 foot Colorado Spruce that was planted only a few weeks ago and will be lit on December 6th at 5pm. With Washington, DC only a few miles east of Northern Virginia, it's a great evening event to load up the car with the family and friends and head downtown!

Closed sales in Loudoun County are up from 310 properties sold in October 2011 to 407 in October 2012. The days a home was active on the market decreased from 81 to 60 days with the average sold price up from $391,485 to $412,527.

On Sunday, Nov. 11th, our nation will honor Americans who served in the military and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It's looking like it's going to be almost 70 degrees and sunny here in Loudoun - making it a perfect day to get out around town or make a day trip to the monuments in Washington, DC!

Loudoun County and the Town of Leesburg will be holding it's Annual Veterans Day Commemoration at the Marshall Center. The event will be held from 2-5pm rain or shine on the grounds of the Dodona Manor under a tent. Enjoy free tours of the Dodona Manor, too!

We are personally writing to you to ask for your help. Today we heard from many of our fellow KW agents in New Jersey, and what we heard was horrifying. Even though Sandy has passed, many people are still living in the dark, cold and are going hungry. The total devastation of several agents homes has many fending for the basic necessities of life. So many are without food, water or other needed supplies. Our hearts broke when we heard that babies did not have diapers, formula or baby food. And with the Nor'easter headed that way today, the conditions are only expected to get worse.

Many of these people are a part of our own Keller Williams Family and they need our help immediately!!! 

The Ask Gina Team has pledged to jump on board and told our fellow KW family not to worry, Ask Gina & Company along with the Keller Williams in Ashburn,Virginia will be there! We're all pitching in here to help the KW Families in the New Jersey area and we could use your help. We ask that you make this a priority and donate ANYTHING if you are in a position to do so!

2 BIG signs of a Recovering Real Estate Market

CNN Money reported last month that foreclosure rates have dropped below 2007 levels in 212 of the nation's largest markets and that new home sales have hit a 2 year high. Have you noticed the construction in Brambleton? 


1 - Foreclosures fall in 62% of US cities

Across the nation, foreclosure filings were down 16% with the lowest number of filings since 2007 and many cities even seeing double digit declines.

2 - New-Home sales hit 2 year high

While the distressed property inventory continues to drop in the Dulles area as well as across the nation, new home sales have been on the rise over the past two years (when the economy was helped by a short-term home buyer's tax credit). Two contributing factors that helped the recent rise in new home sales, are the drop in unemployment and continued historically low interest rates. 

Builders have started to see new home inventory levels stabilize and in response, have even started to drop incentives and raise prices. CNN Money reported last month that the median price of a new home sold from is up 11.7% from last year!


We have begun to see the effects of a recovering economy in Loudoun County, Virginia where the current unemployment less is than half the national average and down .3% from last year to an incredible rate of 4.0% (reported by the US Department of Labor).
