Coffee with Your AGC Realty Team: Kim Smith, Office Manager/ Lion Tamer

Coffee with Your AGC Realty Team
Kim Smith, Office Manager/ Lion Tamer
The team members of Ask Gina & Company like to believe that we moonlight as Loudoun County’s go-to circus crew, being the greatest team on earth. As the Social Media Maven, I double as a tap dancing penguin, putting on a show and drawing attention toward our real estate and philanthropic involvement in Northern Virginia. Kim Smith, our Ashburn Office Manager doubles as the AGC Circus’s Lion Tamer. Along with accomplishing several administrative duties, Kim tames the rest of the AGC team into staying focused, enthused, and goal oriented. One of Kim’s AGC goals for 2014 is for our circus to grow as a result of her involvement on the team. While the other members of the Ask Gina team are already aware of her superior organizational skills, education, and customer service, Kim would like her name to be synonymous with excellence throughout all of the Northern Virginia real estate industry.
Kim and Ask Gina CEO/Ringleader Gina Tufano were acquaintances and Facebook friends who, once they discussed Sterling real estate, knew that they would have an enviable boss/employee relationship that would be positive and beneficial for both parties. Having loads of experience in the realm of real estate, thanks to her involvement in DAAR- Dulles Area Association of REALTORS, Kim joined Ask Gina & Company in summer of 2013.  Kim was the Business Development Director for DAAR for 2 years and one of her favorite roles with the association was marketing and organizing events, such as golf tournaments, awards banquets, and installation of new officers.
Kim is enthusiastic to become further involved in the entire transaction process when assisting our 20165 home buyers and sellers. She continually seeks educational opportunities to help improve herself and the team. She is confident that all parties involved, from the Title Company and lenders to agents and clients, will know that they can rely on Kim to provide whatever is needed.  She has steadily developed strong professional relationships with many in the field who already feel confident working with and relying on Kim. When you call (703)574-3478 to ask your Potomac Falls real estate questions, you can be assured that you are in good, knowledgeable hands.
The extended Smith family resides throughout Sterling and its neighboring communities, adding to Kim’s vast network of social and professional contacts. Kim and her husband, Aaron, along with their two daughters, take advantage of their close proximity to family and often enjoy sharing dinner, movies, and winery outings together. In addition to her goals pertaining to her work at Ask Gina & Company, with Keller Williams Loudoun Gateway, Kim hopes to venture to Europe with her husband, who has yet to fly across the Atlantic. Kim traveled to Spain when she was 15 and is ready to experience Europe as an adult. The AGC team loves our Lion Tamer so much that we’ll have to have to see how long the office will allow her to vacation for…

Although Kim is fit to be a Circus entertainer, wearing many hats and juggling several duties, she balances her family and professional life in a way that tames those around her and allows our circus to perform at the highest standard. Share our appreciation of Kim by calling (703)574-3478 and find out how the AGC team can assist in the sale of your NOVA property.

Use an Ask Gina & Company Buyer’s Agent

Use an Ask Gina & Company Buyer’s Agent
We want to tell our Loudoun County neighbors every day that Ask Gina & Company is here for you whether you are purchasing or selling a property in or around Sterling, Virginia. As we mentioned in a previous blog post titled What First Time Home Buyers Need to Know, you will not save any money by opting out of utilizing a buyer’s agent when purchasing your Northern Virginia home. Instead, use an Ask Gina buyer’s agent who could potentially save you money based on their proficiency and negotiating expertise.
Teresa Boardman, a broker in St. Paul, Minnesota, contributed an article to Inman News relaying a personal experience with a homebuyer who wished to purchase a home without an agent on his side in the hopes of saving some money.  Boardman, “explained to him that the commission is payable to the listing agent who agrees to pay a portion of it to the Realtor representing a buyer,” but the buyer insisted on representing himself.

Read the entire story, titled Why Today’s Homebuyer Needs a Real Estate Agent More Than Ever, and then get on the phone with your Ask Gina buyer’s agent by calling (703)574-3478. Are you relocating out of Lowe’s Island or a surrounding neighborhood? The AGC team has over a decade of experience selling in 20165 and we are ready to sell your property! Project Elf- Loudoun County Girl Scouts Selflessly Serving Others

Project Elf- Loudoun County Girl Scouts Selflessly Serving Others

Ask Gina & Company, with Keller Williams Loudoun Gateway, is continually humbled by the generosity of our Northern Virginia community. An e-mail sent by Anna Nissinen, Loudoun County’s Public Affairs and Communications Officer, explains “Project Elf,” a program developed five years ago by Bethann Laign, former Service Unit Manager of Girl Scouts Unit 70-9 in Leesburg.

Nissinen relays, “The Girl Scouts of Loudoun County Service Unit 70 have worked during this holiday season adopting the families currently receiving case management services through MHSADS [Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services] Prevention/ Intervention.  This year, the number of troops participating to provide holiday gifts and clothing for each family member has increased to over 100.  Each troop has either adopted one family, or in some cases, two troops have shared in the adoption of a larger family.  Loudoun Girl Scouts have been busy wrapping each gift, then dropping them off at the Mental Health Center in Leesburg.

“MHSADS Prevention/Intervention staff members are in the process of delivering all the gifts, clothing and food to each of the families before the holidays.   With the increasing number of families in need, MHSADS Prevention/Intervention staff will again partner with the Sheriff’s Office for additional help with deliveries.  Sheriff’s deputies who have worked with the Prevention/Intervention staff on other projects, such as Camp REAL (Raising Education, Achievement and Leadership), will assist staff delivering the gifts donated by the scouts.

This year, Project Elf will be making Christmas merry for nearly 100 local families, thanks to the Loudoun County Girl Scouts. The AGC team wants your Holiday Season to be celebrated in a new Sterling home so call our team, specializing in purchasing and selling real estate in 20165, at (703)574-3478 to find out how you can move into a loving Loudoun neighborhood. Also be sure to share your inspirational holiday stories and traditions on our Ask Gina & Company Facebook page.

Mystery Man Ensures Sterling, Virginia has a Merry Christmas

Mystery Man Ensures Sterling, Virginia has a Merry Christmas

Ask Gina & Company loves Christmas traditions and the Holiday Spirit. Our entire Keller Williams Loudoun Gateway office is proud to be involved in the giving and tight knit community that Loudoun County continuously proves to be. Yesterday, December 17th, an anonymous man made some Christmas purchases at a Sterling, Virginia Toys R Us and, before leaving the store, paid for several families’ layaway items.

ABC 7 reports that, “The families who put their Christmas toys on layaway were about to lose the items on their children's wish list because time was running out. But this mystery man couldn't let that happen.”

Watch the clip and read more from the Northern Virginia broadcast here. Do you have any Christmas traditions or holiday feel good experiences? Share them on our Ask Gina & Company Facebook page and call our Ashburn office at (703)574-3478 with any Loudoun County real estate questions.

Ask Gina About Dominion High School

Ask Gina About Dominion High School
Are you planning on moving to Northern Virginia from outside of Loudoun County? Ask Gina & Company would like to reassure you that you are moving into an award winning, highly acclaimed k-12 school district. Within the Loudoun County school district resides Dominion High School of Sterling, Virginia. John Brewer, principal at Dominion High School, believes in investing in the over-all growth of each student and has stated his vision “to promote high levels of achievement for our most vulnerable learners, while reinvigorating our efforts to empower each and every Titan to grow as a person of character, respect, service, and leadership.”
Andrew Tufano, former Dominion High student and son of Ask Gina & Company CEO, Gina Tufano, believes that, “DHS is definitely one of the top high schools in the country. Having only direct experience at DHS and no other high schools, my comparisons are based off of stories from other kids I've met locally and at college in Nashville; but even so, it is clear that very few schools offer the balance of rigorous academic opportunity as well as a vast selection of competitive extra-curriculars. All Loudoun County schools are similar in that they push students to be their personal best in a well-rounded fashion, but Dominion is set apart by its principal, John Brewer, who forms a personal and positive relationship with every single student, knowing not only every student's name, but the activities they're involved in and their personal goals. Brewer's passion, combined with the excellence of a Loudoun high school, raises DHS above other schools.”
Andrew’s belief is supported by national recognition of the Northern Virginia school and its students as well as the distinguished achievements of its athletic programs. The Dominion High School Titan athletes participate in region 4A conference of the VHSL (Virginia High School League) and their football team made it to the quarter finals this year while DHS is home to the 2013 State Champion in golf. The Sterling students have also formed and participate in several clubs revolving around foreign language (including French Club, Latin Club, and Spanish Club), music (such as Key Club and Guitar Club), and dance.  The school organizes several activities throughout the year and students manage and operate Titans Corner, the school store.

Dominion High School has proven to be an educational institution determined to help its students take pride in themselves and their accomplishments. Ask Gina & Company takes pride in our determination to find you the perfect home in Sterling or its surrounding communities so call us today at (703)574-3478 to find out how you can become our Northern Virginia neighbor.
