
Despite the high unemployment rate nationwide, Northern Virginia holds four jurisdictions with the best unemployment rates in the state, with each falling under 5% this summer - Loudoun County, Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, and Arlington. While Arlington County holds the best unemployment rate at 4.2%, under 5% unemployment is considered to be “full employment” according to The Virginia Employment Commission.
