October is National Crime Prevention Month and in honor of that Loudoun County has implemented Operation Inventory - a prevention based program to help keep track of our prized possessions!
It's simple, really. Loudoun County has provided forms for citizens to download, fill out, and keep in case of a loss. Key information includes model numbers, serial numbers, and make/model information that can aid law enforcement in returning stolen property and even help in prosecuting the offender. In addition, this information is crucial in a search of the National Crime Information Center database. This database allows any law enforcement agency to determine if an item was stolen and from which location across the country!
